Petrolog
I am thinking about purchasing Petrolog, how can I find out more about Petrolog?
To get a quick overview of Petrolog you can view the help manual available online or download the Getting Started Guide and help files (either in .chm or .pdf formats).
For a more hands on approach you can download Petrolog and request an 60 day evaluation license. The full functionality of the software is available with the following restrictions:
- All graphics include an "Evaluation only" watermark
- Data Export is disabled
.
Do you offer an Evaluation version of Petrolog??
You can evaluate Petrolog by downloading the lastest release or beta version. Run Petrolog and select "Petrolog Request Evaluation" under the menu "Tools". This will generate a hardware key based on the computer Petrolog is installed on. Once you have this key you can send it to CDP who will issue you with an evaluation key. This will allow you to use Petrolog under an evaluation for 60 days.
How do I get a copy of Petrolog?
You can get a copy of Petrolog either by downloading it off our website under the download page. Alternatively we can send you a CD upon request.
I need a feature that Petrolog does not provide. Can I request for new features/enhancements?
Petrolog is always being developed and is evolving to meet the needs of our clients. We welcome any feedback about our Products which will help improve our software.
I am having trouble downloading Petrolog. What can I do?
If you are having problems downloading Petrolog then there is a few things you can do.
Try using a download manager. Most download managers allow you to start and stop a download rather than download it in one hit. This allows you to resume a download if there is a lost in connection.
Alternative you can request for a CD. This can be done by contacting us (see contact section).
Services
I wish to use some services you provide. How do I get a quote?
This can be done by contacting CDP via phone or email. Our contact details can be found on the contacts page.
Website/FTP
CDP has given me an ftp account. How do I upload/download files?
To login to your ftp account you need the following information:
- username: myname
- password: mypassword
- host: ftp.petrolog.net
These can then be used to access your account.
The most common methods of accessing your account are from a web browser (eg Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) or through an ftp client program (there are several different types available for purchase or freely downloadable from the internet).
For reliablity it is recommend to use a ftp client program. The setup of the ftp client program differs slightly for each program. In most cases you just need to create a new profile and input your username, password and host (ftp.petrolog.net).
Your ftp account can also be accessed through a web browser. To access your account through a web browser simple type the following into your address bar.
ftp://username@ftp.petrolog.net
Example:
ftp://myusername@ftp.petrolog.net
You will then be prompted to enter your password.
Note: Some browsers do not let you upload your files and only allow downloading of your files.
If you are still having problems connecting to your ftp account it may be due to security settings on your computer/network. These include situations when you are behind a firewall or proxy. If you are behind a firewall or proxy please consult your system administrator/IT staff.
