Petrolog 10.4.2 released
The 10.4.2 update is recommended for all users as it address several bugs and introduces several new features. Note that the bugs that were found only occur under very specific circumstances.
We have also released the first 10.5 (Beta) version which I have been using for Petrolog demonstrations and we have found it to be very stable and much faster than the 10.4 baseline. I would recommended that our "Early Adopter" users move directly onto 10.5.
The main updates introduced in 10.4.2 include:
- DLIS Import: Prevent crash with DLIS with internal files of frame spacing of 0"
- LAS Import: Time based files with units other than MSEC were being converted to FT
- LAS3 Import/Export: Further updates to handle various non-LAS3 certified features that are being used by 3rd parties.
- Scan Log Data Files: Added the Log Description field to the report.
- Discrete Data tables: Formating linefeeds being entered into strings were being removed on save.
- Editing Dialogs: Histogram was not working via control in the Editing Log Dialogs.
- Explorer: Added a 'Reset Selection' button to Project Explorer.
- Strata Editor: Drag and drop of Strata Tops onto plots was not working.
- Histograms: Statistics for logarithmic scaled logs were being incorrectly calculated.
- Plots: After changing depth scale, first page scroll was jumping to random location in plot.
- Plots: Fixed freeze when all curves deleted from template on opening.
- Plots: Added SDL Drilling and Formation Evaluation Templates.
- CPX Petrophysics: Bottom depth of last zone in control file was initialised one depth frame shallow.
- Imagelog: Improved the Dip Legend (plot insert) layouts and options.
- Imagelog: Changed to default Image format from JPEG to PNG (JPEG was displaying Image gaps as black instead of transparent).
- Image display orientated by RB in HLH mode was being displayed incorrectly.
- Imagelog: Azimuth Roses were being displayed 180 our when using 24 sectors.
- Sonic Processing: Autosave of control file on tab change or processing, plus addition stability when handling poor quality waveforms.
- Sonic Processing: Now handles non-packed waveforms requiring start time normalisation.
- Sonic Processing: Added an AGC gain control processing option.
- Sonic Processing: Added the Schlumberger MSIP (Sonic Scanner) configuration.
